Humble Beginnings

This picture shows some of the early body butter recipes that I prepared for friends and co-workers. I was so proud when one of my girlfriends told me that it smelled so good that she wanted to eat it. At the time, many of the ingredients were food grade, so I considered telling her that she could! These butters were very thick, highly fragrant, and had very few ingredients. I always loved this about my blends. I enjoyed taking the time to warm the butter in my hand, taking in the fragrance, and slowly rubbing it into my hair and skin. However, as I worked on new recipes, I wanted to move away from the time consuming process of having to work the product into the skin. I don’t always have time for the slow application of a thick moisturizer and I know a lot of women feel the same.

Since then, I’ve moved toward lighter formulations and I’ve done more research on the health benefits of certain ingredients. I started growing herbs and botanicals for extracts to use in my recipes. I’m an experimenter by nature (and trade), so I’m constantly plotting and preparing new extracts and recipes everyday. As I test and validate each new formulation I will add them to the collection on this site.
